Referrals
New patients wishing to make an appointment with our clinicians must forward a valid referral for review and triaging prior to appointments. Please email your referral to admin@heidelbergneurology.com.au. Appointments are unable to be made without the availability of a valid referral. A referral is also required for patients to claim via Medicare.
Whilst staff make all reasonable attempts to remind existing patients of the need for renewed referrals, patients are personally responsible for ensuring they have a valid referral.
Appointment Preparation
In an effort to make the best use of your time with your consultant we ask that you ensure that you bring with you copies of ALL imaging results that you may have and that are relevant to your consultation. Additionally, a complete list of all of your current regular medications is extremely important. If you are unsure of these please bring all of your medications or your webster pack with you.
Fees
All clinicians at Heidelberg Neurology charge private fees which are payable in full on the day of service. All accounts are automatically submitted to Medicare. Medicare rebates are deposited directly to the patients nominated bank account (Medicare held information) typically within 24 hours.
Bulk billing is not available with our consultants.
Appointment Reminders
By way of courtesy, practice staff attempt to remind all patients of upcoming appointments via our SMS messaging service seven days prior to their appointment. This courtesy should not necessarily be relied upon and it is an individual patient’s responsibility to record (and attend) any appointments made in their name.
Transport Accident Commission and Workcover Claims
We are happy to accept consultations that are covered by TAC and Workcover however, it is the patients responsibility to provide us with evidence of written approval from their insurer at the time of booking their appointment.
