DR DANIEL BARBER

Neurologist

Daniel Barber is a Neurologist from Melbourne, Australia. Having completed his advanced training at Eastern and Western hospitals, Dr Barber completed a fellowship in movement disorders at the Austin Hospital under the tutelage of Dr Andrew Hughes. Daniel has lived around the world, and obtained a prior Honours degree in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto.

Driven by a passion for understanding Parkinson’s disease at a deeper level, Dr. Barber embarked on
a Ph.D. journey in systems biology at The University of Melbourne under the tutelage of Professor Tissa Wijeratne. His research focuses on unraveling the intricate mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease, particularly emphasizing the role of a multi-system approach in early diagnosis and potential insights into disease-modifying treatments.

Daniel has a particular interest in Movement Disorders, Neurodegenerative Disorders, and botox therapy for dystonia, migraine and spasticity.
